Dissing Dads? Hardly.
Among the many questions that push to the brides to be by well-wishers and curious is "Is your dad to walk down the aisle?" Used to be a fact in most U.S. Christian or Christian weddings cocktail dresses with taste, but today there are definitely more options. A bride can walk with her father or, like me, be escorted by both parents. She can walk with her husband-to-be - and I do not think it's good to see a pair of sliding up until death separated from one another.
Some brides walk alone, and I know that at least one who was in a group with her bridesmaids. Others walk halfway to the altar with the father and the rest of the way with their spouses-to-be (or solo). And some on foot, bridesmaid dress show with uncles or aunts or friends or a pet. When it comes to breaking with tradition, anything goes, especially in this area.
The only problem? Many parents still assume that we will make the trek. Mine definitely did, and was hurt when I said I wanted to be escorted in - No, I might add, that 'gift' - both he and my mom.plussize wedding dresses seemed so wrong to not include my mom, who did most of the work when I came to rise.
Frankly, a bouquet and a seat up front is not cut. So my dad was hurt, but got over it, or at least never brought it back. Not all parents feel dissed, but it's a good thing, because the times are a'changin.
